I am a 25 year old male and I recently found what appeared to be a small bump on my left breast.

My family doesn't have a history of breast cancer on either side of my family, and I recently got basic blood test results from my family physician which said that my results were negative except for high cholesterol and minor liver enzymes out of whack. which could be fixed by fasting and going on a healthy diet.

Here's the weird thing, it came about out of nowhere, and once I felt it, I wasn't sure if it was a syst, large pimple, or scar tissue from a surgery I had there about a year and a half ago to remove fat from my breasts. In a matter of hours, it was completely gone by the time I woke up. I have had no pain before, during, and after it occurred and I have no symptons of male breast cancer. What should I make out of a small bump in my breast that appeared out of nowhere, and left as quickly as it appeared?

I am still a little nervous and confused about it. I am glad it went away, but I hope it wasn't an indication of something. Like I said, I got blood work done about 4 weeks ago and my blood work was fine except for the two minor things I mentioned. Plus, I read that Male breast cancer is more common in men over 50.

Steve, I'm sorry - I don't know what to make of a lump that comes and disappears quickly. I know you realize that male breast cancer is incredibly rare - about 1,900 cases a year in the U.S. And this doesn't sound like a breast cancer symptom. So - I guess I can't help you, other than to tell you to keep an eye on things, and if you find a lump that appears and stays there, you might ask the doctor about it. Good luck - PJH
