Q: Beginning Chemo

My spouse, a 41yr old is getting ready to start chemo therapy.  The drug they will be using is Cytoxan.  How safe is this drug and what can we expect? Fortunatly, the cancer has not spread t her lymph nodes, but she is a (i think I am saying this write) triple negative.  Please help in advising our choices.

Hi - Please read our AC +T chemo FAQS; and our triple negative FAQS. I think both of these will help you. It's good the cancer hasn't spread to her nodes; that's a real plus. Be sure to discuss side effects with her oncologist's nurse prior to beginning, OK? There are things she should do – drugs to take – that will help prevent the more bothersome side effects. Best of luck - PJH
