Q: Infected hair folicals during and after chemo

Has anyone experienced lumps in the armpits during chemo and a month after? My oncologist told me they were infected hair folicales and that after chemo they should disappear. A month has gone by and they keep showing up. Does anyone have an idea on how to stop this? Or what meds are good to help this?

Hi - If your doctor says these are infected hair follicles, and they're still there a month after chemo, it sounds to me like you should see a dermatologist. Surely there must be something that can be done for this condition. Please ask your oncologist for a referral. Good luck - PJH
