I'd imagine the length of time it takes would depend on how large it is; and how painful it is would depend on your individual pain threshhold. Readers, can any of you who've had this done offer some insight here? Thanks - PJH

my mom has had a seroma drained twice now - she had a mastectomy 4 weeks ago- she said having it drained is totally painless and the relief from getting rid of the feeling of having a tennis ball under her arm is great. only trouble is the fluid is still building up again at the moment but she has been assured that it will settle down eventually
