With both armpits affected, this definitely sounds like a skin issue. Have you been wearing any new clothes? Using a new laundry detergent, or a new shower gel? Swimming a lot? If this persists, you'd probably want to see your family doctor, who could then send you to a dermatologist, if necessary. Best of luck - hope it disappears soon. PJH

thank you for your help, the itching stopped and I did switch deodorants. However, the rash is still there it went from bright red to a darkish red.

Since the itching stopped and it's darkening, sounds like the issue is winding down, then. If it doesn't continue to get better, then you might consider seeding a doctor. Good luck - PJH

As PJ says, new skin care products can cause problems like this.  Sometimes people suddenly develop an allergy to a product they have used for years.  You could try switching to skin care products designed to prevent allergies, but since this is spreading and itchy, seeing a doctor will probably give you the quickest diagnosis and relief.

I'm glad it's getting better.  If it doesn't clear up completely in another couple of weeks, checking in with a doctor would be a good idea.  Of course, if it starts to get worse again, you'll want to see the doctor too.
