A cancer lump is usually firm, rather than soft/squishy. But there are many reasons for a lump in your breast, most of which are not cancer. I'm surprised a doctor would surmise it's cancer without you having gone through a full round of diagnostic tests. Be aware that MRIs are notorisous for producing false positives; that is, they say "this lump is cancer," and you have a biopsy and it turns out it's not. They're very sensitive - which is a mixed blessing. So, good luck today - I hope things turn out well for you. PJH
