Q: facial hair growth

I am taking Arimidex and I am developing some hair growth on my face that I didn't have before.  Can you tell me if this has occurred taking Arimidex and what do I do about it.

Becky, while this isn't listed as a side effect of Arimidex, I know women have complained of increased facial hair. Since Arimidex prevents your body from changing the male sex hormone androgen into the female sex hormone estrogen, you're left with an excess of androgen, which could be causing this hair growth. I would ask to be referred to a dermatologist to see if there's anything you can do about it, OK? Good luck - PJH
