Mr. Wad, I'm sorry, we're not doctors here. Only women who've had breast cancer and know something about it. I'm sorry for your troubles... Your wife will need her breast taken off, yes; after that, she should have chemotherapy, and perhaps other long-term drugs. Every case is different; stage III isn't the worst, so hopefully she can be helped with treatment. There's no predicting what will happen; many women survive with this; some do not. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with your country's health-care system, so can't advise about treatment in Mumbai. Perhaps ask at the hospital for advice? I wish you the best going forward, and hope she has treatment and makes a good recovery - PJH

Mr. Wad,

You mentioned that your wife' grade was grade lll, this is different from stage. The stage of your wife's cancer will be a big factor in determining a treatment plan after surgery. Please make it a point to ask every question and voice every concern about your wife's cancer to her doctor, you can make a list of all your questions and take it with you to her next appointment.

Wishing your wife the best of luck
