Q: why would my onc give me herceptin if im triple negative, stage 2b, idc, chemo feb '10 6mos, mastectomy sep 24 2010, plus radiation in process, 28 yr old

Have you asked your oncologist why you're taking Herceptin if you're triple negative? Surely s/he would know the details of your case that led to this treatment. I have to say, in all my research I've never heard of Herceptin being used to treat triple negative breast cancer. Either some part of your pathology came back positive for HER2-neu; or you're misunderstanding your diagnosis. Please ask your oncologist the same question you've asked here; that's the only way to get a definitive answer. Take care- PJH
