mass in breast looks like shattered rocks
I had a mamogram and ultrasound done they found 2 lumps which said needed to be biopsied and also another mass that the doctor said looked like shattered broken rocks spreading down the breast towards my nipple the dr. said had to be removed what exactly does that mean and how do they remove that mass?
Hi Denise - Good luck with your biopsies - keep in mind that about 85% of biopsies are NOT cancer, so the statistics are with you. As for the "shattered rocks," that sure doesn't sound like a medical expression to me! Could be calcifications, which usually aren't cancerous themselves but can become so. (Surgeon described my calcifications as "a field of wildflowers." Rocks, wildflowers... Jeesh.) Not sure how they'd remove them; depends how many, and how close they are to one another. I think this is an answer you'll need to get from your doctor. Best of luck to you - PJH
