Q: I had a bilateral mastectomy for IDC with and Onco score of 10 (node negative er positive)

is cmf chemo with tamoxifen indicated?

Hi LisaMarie- Your oncotype score is low, meaning chemo won't really make much difference to you (i.e., you could get away without having it). That, combined with no positive nodes, makes me think chemo is a very aggressive treatment for you. You might want to discuss this further with your oncologist and ask exactly why it's being recommended, if it is in fact recommended. As for tamoxifen, if you're pre-menopausal, yes, tamoxifen would be your long-term drug of choice. Good luck - PJH
