I have pain in my right breast, the nipple is so itchy it woke me up. There is no history of breast cancer in my family. However, my Dad did pass from lymphatic cancer.

Hi Patty - Please read our post on nipple issues, and on breast pain. Bottom line: your dad's lymphatic cancer doesn't put you at increased risk for breast cancer. As for the itchiness and pain, if they change—get more severe, or more constant—or if your breast seems to be getting infected (red, hot, swollen, itchy all over, sore), then please see a doctor. You'll want to find out what's going on, and rule out a rare form of breast cancer (inflammatory breast cancer). Good luck - PJH
