Q: I had an inital biopsy: Invasive ductal carcinoma moderately to poorly diffrentaited with appocrine fearures. At least 1.1cm at greatest width. Intermediate grade Ductal Carcinoma in situ, solid type

Does this mean that I have both invasive and DCIS?

Yes, Michelle, that's right - you have both. And this isn't unusual; many of us with invasive cancer, such as your infiltrating ductal carcinoma (IDC) also have DCIS, a "pre-cancer." Your treatment won't change any, having both types; anything they do for the IDC will also work well on the DCIS. Best of luck to you - PJH
