Karen, good for you for noticing the patterns in your breast changes over the course of your menstrual cycles.  It is normal to have swelling before your period begins, and that swelling can cause pain.  This Teen Guide to Normal Breast Development will give you more information about what is typical, and what might need a doctor's attention.  Breast cancer is so very rare in teens that you really can put that at the bottom of your list of things to worry about.  If the pain doesn't go away after your period, let an adult know so that you can see a doctor.

Glad to help.  I think you will find that this will be a regular annoying, but harmless, issue in the week before your period.  If it isn't, don't hesitate to tell your mom or another adult so that she can decide whether you need to see a doctor.
