I have had a very itchy nipple with no other signs for about a month, and this morning woke up with an itchy red rash on my breast. Is this a sign of cancer?

Hi Edith - An itchy nipple and rash can be a sign of various things, including an allergy (have you changed your laundry detergent or bath gel lately?); a hormonal imbalance or, very rarely, and early sign of a rare form of breast cancer, inflammatory breast cancer. In order to rule out cancer, you should have this checked out by a doctor, OK? It's gone on long enough that you need to figure out what's going on. Good luck to you - PJH

As PJ says, the chances are it's not cancer.  Here's a link for more info about breast rashes.  You'll need to check with the doctor for the best treatment.  It much too soon to panic about this being cancer, but you'll feel much better once you find out what it is and how to fix it.
