Thanksfully, Ladan, I don't know of any "don'ts" related to tamoxifen. Unless it's "don't be surprised when you gain weight." Or "don't ignore it if you feel depressed." Both weight gain and depression are "unofficial" side effects of tamoxifen. But as far as I know, there are no other drugs it interacts unfavorably with. If you're thinking alcohol, you shouldn't be drinking much (better, at all) - as alcohol increases your risk for recurrence. Good luck - PJH

If you are seeing a doctor other than your oncologist and he/she prescribes medication for another issue, make certain that Doc knows you have/had estrogen positive cancer.  Clear ALL meds through your oncologist.

Don't mean to sound like an expert, I'm not unlike Ms Hamel who answered your question but, it is my understanding drugs for hot flashes, for example, contain estrogen and should not be taken.
