Hi - Carrie's first move should be to speak with the social workers at the hospital where she was diagnosed. There are federal and state programs to help women in her situation, and the social workers will know about those programs. Second, she should check out our post on financial resources. She should be able to find the help there she needs, if her hospital is no help. Tell her she needs to be persistent; and she needs to speak with the right people. As far as I know, our society has yet to sink to the level of deliberately letting people die due to lack of health insurance. Good luck to her - PJH
