Q: I ve a damaged puituiary gland & recurrence of breast cancer, is aromatase inhibitor ok to use?

I don't produce oestrogen due to damaged puituary gland but the breast cance is oestrogen positive, is there any advantage of taking Aromasin(aromatase inhibitor)?

Michelle, I'm not well versed in how the pituitary gland controls estrogen production, but I know your body can convert androgen into estrogen - so even if you're not producing estrogen from a primary source (ovaries, etc.), there can still be estrogen in your body. And an aromatase inhibitor prevents this conversion. So yes, there may still be an advantage to taking an AI. I'd discuss this more fully with your doctor. Good luck - PJH
