Be sure to tell every provider you see that you're pregnant; don't assume they'll pass the message along to one another. Your pregnancy might impact your cancer treatment in a number of ways, and everyone involved needs to be aware. Most likely you'll have surgery, and that will determine whether or not you need to make a decision about chemotherapy. Obviously it would be less problematic if you can avoid chemo, but pregnant women DO have chemo for breast cancer and successfully deliver healthy babies. So please don't panic, OK? Just take this one step at a time and, as I said, make sure everyone knows about your condition. Good luck - with your cancer treatment, and with your new baby this spring! PJH
