Fran, speak to a social worker at the hospital where you'd be treated, or are being treated; this would be your first step. Social workers are trained to help patients navigate their treatment in all ways, not just medically. And please read our guide to financial resources for cancer treatment, which offers a number of links to institutions and programs that may prove helpful. Good luck - I hope you find the help you need. PJH
I have ins but after ins paid I don't have the the money to pay. I'm work but not full time. It is all I can do to pay for food and gas to get me to work. I just wish I
knew what to do. Any help!
Sandy, have you read our post on financial resources, and our post, Paying for Cancer Treatment: First, Don't Panic? You'll find lots of helpful information and links that should help you figure out how to pay for treatment. It's tough, and it'll take time, but pursue it. A social worker at the hospital where you're receiving treatment is often a good person to get you started on the right road. Good luck - PJH
