Chelsea, no, it doesn't sound like cancer. At your age, you have about a .05% chance of breast cancer, so it's exceedingly rare. And many young women have lumpy breasts, which is usually the result of fibrocystic breasts, a pretty typical condition. Nevertheless, it's obvious you're stressed about this. If you can, see if you can make an appointment with a breast specialist. This person can go over which breast lumps are OK, and which you might take more seriously. With your mom having died of cancer, obviously you have reason to be anxious; so I suggest getting some hard facts, to allay your fears. Shining a light on what scares you is often the way to cure it, OK? So set aside your fears, and be proactive. Best of luck to you - PJH
