If the pain lasts longer than a month, and doesn't come and go - like, it's not more noticeable just before your period, then eases off after your period - then you should see a doctor. Without insurance, you need to approach it a bit differently - call your hospital, ask to speak to a social worker, and describe your issue. See if they have a low-cost clinic. If not, ask to work out a payment plan. Also, read our post on financial resources. While what you describe isn't a typical breast cancer symptom, if it DOES turn out to be cancer-related, your treatment could potentially be completely covered - but you have to go through a specific government-directed process, starting with the mammogram. The social workers will know about this; you'll find info. via the link above. Good luck - PJH
