Kam, a stinging feeling that lasts for 2 months, with no other symptoms, wouldn't be a typical breast cancer symptom. However, since you've had this for 2 months and it doesn't seem related to your cycle, then it's time to see a doctor to find out what's going on. Could be a nerve issue; a cyst or series of small cysts; or, since it's on the left side, maybe even an odd cardiac-related issue. But whatever it is, it doesn't look like it's going away on its own; so best to see your doctor, OK? Good luck - PJH

Hi thank youbfor your response. I have since been to my gp and they are referring me to the breast clinic I am extremely anxious about this as my mum has secondary lung cancer and I also lost my dad to it too. I am waiting for the appointment to come through. No one knows apart from my husband as I am a very shy person. I asked for advice here not expecting anyone to answer me. I truly appreciate your time and I hope it is what you say x Reply

Kam, don't worry about any link between lung cancer and breast cancer - unless your mum's lung cancer started as breast cancer, then your risk isn't increased. And even if she did have breast cancer, your risk is increased - but it's still low. I'm glad your husband is there to help you through the waiting; it can be stressful. Still, keep in mind - pain isn't a typical breast cancer symptom; and odds are, this will turn out to be something hormonal. Take care - PJH

Thank you from my heart. I am scared but I will take on board what you have said and try not to worry too much... I do appreciate your time. Hopefully the wait won't be too long.. Mum had bowel and now lung.. Dad had it everywhere too late to help him though..:(. Think the stress of everything is getting a bit much. We find strength from somewhere I will find mine x Reply

Kam, here are two more options: since this is on your left side, ask to be assessed for a possible cardiac issue. And, since your GP seems unable to help, ask for an appointment with a breast specialist, a doctor who treats only breast issues, and so knows a lot more about them than your typical GP. In the meantime - moan away! Pain is eviscerating and exhausting. We're here to support you any way we can, and if it's by listening and bearing witness - that's fine. Take care- PJH
