Q: aspirin therapy for breast cancer

An article in the Wall Street Journal  Tuesday May 11. 2010 stated that aspirin and cetain NSAID' were in a Nurses Health Study and reported that taking them after menopause reduces estrogen levels which may offer protection against breast and ovarian cancers.

The researches analyzed levels of several types of estrogen in blood samples from 740 post menopausal women. Those who used aspirin and other NSAID's 15 or more days a month had the greatest estrogen drop. A separate study of 4,614 breast cancer survivors  enrolled in the nurses study also found that  those who used aspirin daily were 64 % less likely to die from the disease.
