Spine X-ray with bubble in left breast.

Topics:Breast Lump

I had a scoliosis x-ray done of the complete spine 2 days ago. The x-ray shows both breast as white circles as it should. However the left one has an almost clear bubble in it that shows up in all three of the x-rays. Today getting dressed I noticed my Left Breast is alot larger then the right. Even my husband was surprised. When I had him check it he found a good size lump in it. we marked the spot and it is the same spot as the x-ray. The breast does not hurt or have a red look to it but does look swollen. I called the doc but they are waiting to get the results of the xrays before they would see me.. Please help I am concerned but I know it could just be a lump not cancer. What do you think?

Susan, I'm no doctor, and please understand that we cannot make diagnoses on this site.  Only your doctor can do that. But, as I understand it, a tumor shows up white on an X-ray, not clear. You might consider discussing with your doctor whether you have a cyst, which if it were large enough, would make your breast appear larger, and certainly you'd feel it as a lump. Even without the X-ray results, since you feel a lump, you should schedule an appointment to have it checked out. You need to set your mind at rest. So, don't panic - just make an appointment with your GP, or whichever doctor you'd go to for getting a breast lump checked. OK? Good luck - PJH
