Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

Q: im confused and dont know what to think

im confused.  i had asked a question a few days ago about my breast bruising without harming it.  i had a dr apt on monday and  she thought it odd also that i bruised without harming or bumping my breast.  she did the exam and then asked me if i minded if she had another surgeon come in for a second opinion, to which i said i didnt mind.  now,  i have a new apt this next monday and they want to see if between feb 16th and feb 23 if it gets smaller.  then they will decide on what to do.  biopsy and or removal.  what do you think?  the ultra sound and mammo didnt look like there was anything.  my breast aches, has veins showing, a small lump i found in oct and now this larger one, with dryness and warmth at times.  what do you think?  i want to think positive, but i have a hard time with all my health problems other than this also.  any advice or info  would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - Not sure what "biopsy and/or removal" means. Perhaps they'll do a biopsy next week, if the lump doesn't seem to be getting smaller? I'm not a breast specialist, nor medically trained, and have no idea what might be going on here. Best to listen to your doctors and do what they say. Think positive; pain and bruising aren't typical breast cancer symptoms. Good luck - PJH

You are fortunate that your doctor is taking your symptoms seriously and getting another opinion.  Sometimes there are no quick and easy answers.  Take a deep breath and try not to worry too much.  (I know it's impossible to not worry just a little bit.)  Your doctor may have several possible causes in mind.  Probably one possible diagnosis that she is hoping to rule out is inflammatory breast cancer because you have some of the symptoms for that.  So take a deep breath and schedule some fun activities for the weekend to take your mind of of this.  One of the hardest things about the diagnostic process is waiting for the next test.  I was going through this eleven years ago this month, and was eventually diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer, but I'm fine now.
