Q: Does invasive/infiltrating ductal carcinoma causes pain in the breast?

I have just been told I have Invasive/Infiltrating ductal cacinoma, all the reserch I have been studing does not indicate that there will be any pain in the breast. Does this mean, it has spread thats why I have pain? can someone please help

It's true, breast cancer is usually painless. However, you might also have cysts or fibroadenomas (benign tumors), which can be quite painful. Pain in your breast doesn't mean it's spread, so please don't worry about that. I'm sure that once you have surgery and get your pathology report you'll know a lot more, but in the meantime, go ahead and mention the pain to your doctor or surgeon; s/he might be able to explain what's its from. Thanks so much for this information. I may try and find some sleep tonigt. One question though, could they have mistaken a  fibroadenomas( benign tumors) to Invasive.infiltrating ductal carcinoma even though I have had mammogram and ultra sound and am still secheduled for the byopsis?
