Hi there,

If you have a lump that has not changed in size for seven years, than it is VERY unlikely to be cancer. Tumours grow and over 7 years you would have noticed a massive difference and perhaps even some other symptoms as well.

I might be missing some information but I find it odd that your doctor would suggest removing your breast under these circumstances.

Is the lump making you uncomfortable?

As a patient, you have the right to ask your doctor for a full explanation of their recommendations and even to go and get a second opionion.
I hope this helps and please feel free to write back with more info-

Laurie
