Category:microcalcification in breast

I had a biopsy done on my right breast, 05/07/08. I was called by my Dr's. office this morning,

05/12/08 and told to be in her offrice on 05/14/08 and to bring someone with me to this appointment.  Needless to say, I am really scared.  I had my annual mammo in March '07,  I had a repeat done Oct. 07 and another one April '08, I was told that I had microcalcifications in my right breast.  Last week I had the biopsy.  I'm nervous to say the least.  Thank you for listening.  Does this mean that they found cancer?

Rose, sorry to say, it's my experience that when they ask you to bring someone with you, it's not to tell you everything is fine... That said, if you have cancer, IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. Breast cancer these days is eminently treatable; some types are even curable. And since you're been so in touch with your doctors via being checked for microcalcifications, I would assume, if you do have cancer, that it would probably be very early. There are millions of breast cancer survivors in this country; cancer simply isn't the dire diagnosis it used to be. To me, personally, cancer was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It turned my life in a very positive direction. So until Wednesday, Rose, I wish you the best. You'll definitely worry; there's no avoiding that. And - you'll be OK. Trust me. Stay in touch here on this site, because if you have cancer, there'll be a lot of women reaching out their hands to help you. - PJH

I'm sorry to hear this and hope the best for you.  At least if you do get bad news while there you will have some support.  When I was told I had cancer the first time, the doctor handed me a tissue, told me the test was positive and walked out.  I just sat there and balled.  No one came back for me and my hubby was on the way to the airport to take my mom to catch her flight.

When I found out my cancer came back in Feb., my doctor had actually called my hubby and asked him to bring me to the office - so he was there with me.

hope the news isn't is bad as you think.  Hope for the best, prepare for the worst - my life's motto!
