Hi - ILC does indeed start as a thickening, but it also doesn't present with the symptoms you describe - pain and itching, and a nipple indentation. However, you should ask your doctor about both mastitis; and inflammatory breast cancer, a rare type of cancer which does often begin with pain and itching, and tends to move fast. So please call and ask if you need to be tested for that, OK? Hopefully this is mastitis or an infection that will be cleared up with antibiotics, but you do need to take precautions, considering the symptoms. Please read our post on IBC - it may help you out.
