Monday, May 26, 2008 Amber Rusciano asks

Q: What does it mean if I have a painful lump?

I had a lump removed last July and it turned out to be nothing, now 9 months later, I've found another and it is very painful, what does that mean?

Amber, in general a painful lump isn't a tumor; breast cancer 9aside from inflammatory) is generally painless. Nevertheless, since you've discovered a new lump (and if it doesn't come and go in synch with your period), you should have it checked out, OK? good luck - PJH
