Q: My left breast is really painful to touch.

Im 24 years old, and there is a part on my left breast which is really painful to touch.  im not sure if its a lump i cant seem to feel it properly.  im on the pill and dont have periods but still have symptoms as if im having one, and i normally get sore breasts but this feels more painful and only in one area, but only when i touch it, i dont feel it at all at any other time. im not sure what i should do.  the obvious answer is to see my doctor but i just wondered if that is necessary.  i think ive had this for about 3 to 4 weeks.

This doesn't sound like a breast cancer symptom, Cherry, but since it's lasted 3-4 weeks, I'd say it's worth a visit to the doctor. You should find out what's causing the pain; it could be symptomatic of some other issue going on. There's a very small chance it could be inflammatory breast cancer, which is quite rare, esp. at your age, but needs to be ruled out. Good luck - PJH
