Sal, your girlfriend needs to call her doctor right away.  The lump she had before may or may not be related to this new one.  Most lumps that women find in their breasts turn out to be benign, and that is especially true for lumps that hurt.  Even when lumps do turn out to be cancer, new treatment methods have greatly reduced the death rate.  However, since your girlfriend has a history of cancer, she needs to be very prompt in reporting any changes in her body to her doctor.  I hope she gets good news.
