Q: My son is 26 years old. He has a tumor in his breast that is growing. He lost his job and does not have insurance. Are there any organizations who can help him?

If this is a cancerous tumor, Saunda (rather than benign), then I'd start with the American Cancer Society. Their Web site has information on local chapters; contact the chapter nearest you, and find out what your next steps should be. They're a wonderful resource for those of us with cancer. I'm sorry you're having to go through this - I hope things work out well for you all... PJH

Two more thoughts: Hill-Burton hospitals receive government funding, and are obliged to reciprocate by treating those without insurance. You might also check our post on financial resources... PJH
