Q: 90 y/0 with IDC and mets to chest bones. Some fractures of ribs. tamoxifin started. time?

90 years old, lives independently by choice. Very active.

She had a partial mastectomy 15 years ago, followed up by radiation for 6-8 weeks. Has done great.

Hi - There's never a really accurate way to predict how long someone will live with metastatic breast cancer. It could be months; it could be years. So much depends on the individual diagnosis, and the woman's overall health - which thankfully sounds good. I assume Tamoxifen may help, or the oncologist wouldn't have prescribed it. I hope she remains on her own for a good long while, the drugs help, and that you watch over her as much as possible. Good luck to you both - PJH
