Carole
Category:Mammogram

A mamogram made my brest squirt blood and the tech said it might indicate serious problems

She said that she would get the doctor to look at the mamogram that day.  I did not hear from them for a week and received a notice that "everything was normal"  My gynocologist said they recomended to her that I have an xray of the mammary ducts done.

A lady at work said that this happened to her and it just meant the the tech put my breast in the machine wrong.

Is this common?  I now have a dent in the nipple area.  Both of my brests were sore for a week after the mammogram.

Whoa, Carole - sounds like a tough experience! I just had a mammogram done 2 days ago, and they were SO gentle, plus the squeeze plates were foam-padded (called MammoPad, if you want to recommend it to your hospital). I'm glad the mammogram was normal, anyway. If your gynecologist wants you to have an Xray (?), best go with her opinion, I'd say. Good luck- PJH
