Q: I had a masectomy nine years ago on my left breast. I started having pain in my right arm about six months ago. During breast exam I found a large lump in my right breast, could this cause the pain.

Hi - A large lump in your right breast may or may not have somethig to do with arm pain. However, more importantly, it may signal a new breast cancer. Please call your oncologist ASAP; or, if you're no longer are seeing him/her, report this to your GP ASAP. Once you've had breast cancer, you can't treat a lump in your breast casually; get it checked, OK? Good luck - PJH
