My recent mammogram showed an area of increased density that was described as overlying fibroglandular tissue. I am not sure what fibroglandular tissue is.

Hi Paula - Fibroglandular breast tissue is normal - it's just the technical term for the non-fat tissue that makes up your breast. So nothing to worry about there - PJH

Diana, fibroglandular tissue is any of the tissue in your breast that's NOT fat or muscle, including milk ducts and lobules, connective tissue, etc. It's perfectly normal. Hope this helps- PJH
