Hello there:   I had a double partial mastectomy and breast reduction on November 6.  The result is excellent.  The two breasts are lifted, of course smaller.  I cannot say yet how smaller they are since I am still wearing surgical bras, but the skin and flesh are mine...It feels like I have the breasts of a 25-30 years old...   The procedure itself was very long, 8 hours, but a lot of it was for the cancer.  I stayed one night in the hospital.  The pain was mostly coming from my ribs and was accute only a day or so.  There were no drains since very few nodes were removed. The cancer surgeon told me that he was very comfortable with the procedure since it allowed him to remove more of the cancer, which is always good.   I have quasi no problem lifting my arms at this point and the recovery is going smoothly.   I hope all goes that well for you and mostly that you will have good news from the cancer front when you wake up.   I am now dealing with the rest of the treatment, most certainly chemo, radiation and hormonal treatment...The road is long, but all this will be behind me in a few months.   I hope that this response is useful to you.  Do not hesitate if you have other questions.   You will be happy with the surgery.  I am sending you warm thoughts and prayers.
