Hi Amber - Please read our message to teens, and our teen guide to breast development. I think you'l feel a lot better after reading both of them. Also, especially when you're older and your breasts are done changing and growing, Angi's advice is good; know what your breasts feel like during the different phases of your menstrual cycle; and if something different appears, keep your eye on it, and have it examined if it lasts longer than a month. Good luck - PJH

You're mom is probably right.  At your age your body is still growing and going through lots of changes, which will continue for many years to come.  The pain could also be related somewhat to your period depending on if the pain comes and goes, or is worse during it.  The best thing you can do since your Nana's had cancer, is to do monthly self exams.  Get to know your breasts well, so you can detect any changes as they occur.  If you detect any lumps or other changes have your mom bring them to your doctors attention.

Good luck!

Angi
