Louise, any change in your breast is something to be concerned about. Since you have an inverted nipple, you're already experiencing an abnormality, long-standing though it is. Now, with something new happening (itching), it might be wise to go get it checked out. An itchy nipple generally isn't a sign of breast cancer, but it's worth it to find out what's going on nonetheless, OK? Good luck - PJH
