Kimberly, I'm not sure what you are asking.  Generally speaking, you can watch a new symptom for a week or two to see what happens unless you are running a fever or are in severe pain.  If this is a muscle strain type of problem, it will probably resolve on its own in a week or two.  If you have swollen lymph nodes because your body is fighting an infection, a week or two will also be enough time for viral illnesses to get better.  This link will give you more information about armpit lumps and when you need to see a doctor about them.
