Hello, I am trying to write a novel where my main character has breast cancer. She found out when she was eight. I asked around and was told children have been recorded with having this type of cancer, but it was very, very uncommon. Is this true? Can a eight year old really get breast cancer? I've been doing research on it, so I can write realistically, but haven't found out about the ages from a trusted expert. Thank you. This will help out a lot.
Her grandmother died from breast cancer. Don't know if that would be relevent in her getting it or not. I would like to learn all I can about it.
