Absolutely - breast reconstruction is a definite choice post-mastectomy, and is something you should consider seriously, in my opinion. Please read our posts on deciding whether to have reconstruction; and body tissue vs. saline/silicone implants. Those should help you understand the process enough to discuss this with the surgeon doing your mastectomy. Also, if your health insurance pays for the mastectomy, they're bound by federal law to pay for reconstruction, too. Good luck - PJH
