I had an oncotype of 47.  no lymph node involvement 1.2 cm tumor, 70% of which was DCIS.  Had pelvic exam that revealed enlarged and painful (on palpation) ovary.   Concerned that BC could have spread.

Terry, no lymph node involvement would indicate that your BC hasn't spread - it has to spread via the lymph nodes. Also, breast cancer doesn't spread to the ovaries - ovarian cancer would be a new cancer. That said, there IS a connection between the two if you have a genetic predisposition for breast cancer - i.e., if you have mutations in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes - then you would be more likely to get ovarian cancer. Bottom line, you need to figure out what's causing the ovary pain, and deal with it; I hope you have a followup scheduled. Good luck - PJH
