Q: I've been taking paxil for 20 years. Recently I had blood work done and my liver function test numbers came back at 50. Can paxil affect these results?

Hi Arlene - Are you a breast cancer survivor? If so, then I'd assume your oncologist is looking at these results, and advising you about next steps; a change in liver numbers can indeed be caused by Paxil, but it can also be an indicator of metastasized breast cancer.

If you're not a survivor, I'm sorry, but this is a breast cancer site, manned by breast cancer survivors (not doctors); so we're unable to help you with other health issues. You might want to visit our depression site, though, as they'd probably be able to help you. Take care- PJH
