My mother was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer- stage 4 to bone. She is 72, has osteoporosis

and old compression fractures.  She was referred to an oncologist for continued back pain, a bone marrow aspirate and biopsy was done.  The results were ER/PR positve, she does not have a mass/lump in her breast, neg bone scan, pet scans, no lymph node, she is to start radiation..........I'm very concerned and confused???????? Please help, were told this is common for post menopausal women.

Hi Anne - For your mom to have breast cancer that's spread to her bones, she must have had breast cancer at one time. And yes, it could have spread then... Other than that, not sure what I can tell you, as your details are confusing and sketchy. Maybe you could provide more detail? Sorry I can't be more help - PJH
