It hurts when my clothes touch it.
Your nipple is covered with tiny oil glands, called Montgomery glands, that keep it supple. Sometimes these glands get blocked, and can become enlarged and inflamed – much like a pimple that might appear on your nose or forehead. This could very well be what you're experiencing. A bit more serious problem would be an infected milk duct. But either way, a painful bump on the nipple isn't a typical breast cancer symptom.
Try putting warm compresses on it, and see if that helps. If it doesn't help within a few days; and certainly if the bump gets worse – larger, more painful – then it's time to see a doctor, as you might have an infection that needs treatment. In the meantime, our post on nipple pain will give you more insight into how to handle this.
Thanks I am in so much painn I am going to look on your site.

I have a bump near my nipple and a bubble on top of it that hurts. Do you know what that is?
Sounds like a minor infection or a clogged oil gland. Keep your eye on it - if it gets worse; or if it doesn't get better in a few weeks, best to see the doctor, OK? Good luck - PJH
I have a small painful bum9 on my left nipple that hurt amd was bleeding the other day
Hi - This could be a simple skin irritation; or perhaps the equivalent of a facial pimple. There are oil glands all around your nipple and, like the oil glands around your nose, they can get infected, swell up, and become painful. Try to wear loose clothing (perhaps a camisole instead of a bra for awhile); a warm compress might help, as well. If this doesn't disappear (or show signs of disappearing withing a few days; and especially if it seems to be getting worse, please see a doctor; you might be dealng with an infection that needs professional treatment. Take care - PJH
