Claire, sorry for your diagnosis - but don't stress too much, IDC is the most common form of breast cancer, and the docs have plenty of experience successully treating it. If anyone knew how any of us get breast cancer, they'd be able to find a cure; unfortunately, it's still a mystery. 75% of women who get breast cancer have no family history and no risk factors at all... It's a roll of the dice, at this point. Stay in touch here - this is a wonderful community, and you'll find lots of other women reaching out to help you during treatment. Good luck- PJH
