Q: My recurrent metastatic breast cancer in liver responds to Herceptin.

Why not in bones neck lungs?

Hi there,

 

I am sorry to hear that you have metastatic breast cancer. I have liver mets, too and have responded VERY well to Herceptin.

 

I am not sure that I understand your question, though. Are you saying that your mets has also spread to other places as well? I think it is a very good sign that your cancer has responded to Herceptin and I think you need to talk to your oncologist about your fears and other possible treatment options. She or he will definitely have some things to recommend.

 

One thing that my oncologist always says to me, is that when one treatment stops working, we will try another. It seems strange to say but in some ways we are fortunate to be living with mets now (as opposed to 10 or even 5 years ago) There are many treatment options for mets, with more being developed every day.
